Summary
of Accomplishments 1999
Our YouthBuild Trainees
have assisted in the construction of over 135 units of low-income housing.
- 25 trainees completed
a one-week PG&E Home Weatherization Training. in Stockton, Ca. To
date our trainees have weatherized more than 130 single family and multi-unit
dwellings.
- 14 Trainees earned
their drivers license.
- 18 Trainees have
their permits or are enrolled in driver education.
- Eleven trainees
received their high school diploma.
- 17 of our Trainees
with previous legal problems have paid off fines, appeared in court,
and have the opportunity to make a fresh start.
- 15 graduates are
in full time jobs.
- 11 of our Graduates
have enrolled in or have been accepted into Building Trades Apprenticeship
Programs.
- Over One thousand
man-hours of community service work were completed.
- Our monthly average
attendance is at 87%. One hundred percent of our Trainees have gained
proficiency in the vocational skills we offer. 46 trainees were certified
in CPR/First Aid.
- 46 of our trainees
completed the High Ropes Course by Odyssey, an 8hr-leadership development
course.
- No accidents or
injuries in 1999 or since start of program.
